Crabby Crawling Girl

Here is a video of Paisley crawling, and as you will see she was a bit crabby at the time. She has a funny little crawl, and drags her left leg along behind her, so I have to put a leg warmer on that leg to keep the carpet burns down. :) Enjoy!

To cut, or not to cut?

Random, I know, but I have been really thinking about cutting my hair back off to a "bob" lately, and can't seem to make the decision alone.

The main reason I wanted to grow it long, was so that I could pull it up and not always have to fix it, and I knew that with a small baby it would be hard to always fix my hair-(and boy was I right-good decision). But now that Paisley is older, I am able to do a lot more, and with the convenience of being able to have a pony tail, it seems I almost always do. And I am really ready to get back to the old Aubrie, who likes to get dressed up, wear makeup, have cute outfits, etc. I mean, let's face it, I have been in t-shirts and workout clothes for at least 7 months now...probably longer. :)

So here are a few pictures of me with the bob, and now with longer hair to compare. I loved my hair when it was short, but it is harder to fix, and I can't pull it up and go, however I really miss the fact that I had a "style", rather than just long hair. AND I really dislike the layers I have right now. I just can't find a great hair dresser here in Ohio. I miss Tammy in Virginia! So I am cutting out the layers probably either way, just wondering if I should go short or not. Let me know what you think.

THEN: (shorter and stacked in the back)

And NOW:

And this is a good in the middle. Not too long, not too short. Still stacked in the back (With two of my most favorite people ever!)--

The Lazies

Back when I was teaching, well I'm still teaching, but back when I taught public school, my teaching partners and I would sometimes would say that kids who were able to do things, but chose not to had a sickness we lovingly called "The Lazies". Well, lately, I have had a serious case of the lazies myself! It all started in June. Paisley and I went to Virginia to visit friends for 5 days, came back home for 9 days, then went to TN, then to Hilton Head, then back to TN. We were practically gone the whole month of June, and didn't get home to stay until July 5th. Needless to say, we were exhausted when we got back from all our travels, so we took a few days off. After a short recovery period, I decided it was time for Paisley to learn to sleep. Vacation had done it for me. There was no sense in a 6 month old child to eat every 2-3 hours during the night, and certainly no sense in me having to spend $12.99 on Lanolin ointment while we were in Hilton Head, when I have a perfectly good tube at home, but NEVER thought I would need it at 6 months old...see I had had enough. So Paisley did great, learned to sleep MUCH better with just a little nudge from Jason and I, didn't put up much of a fight at all- but more on that when we do the 6/7 month update.

So after Paisley started sleeping better, now I have no excuse for not having a spic-and-span house, laundry done, and a pie in the oven when Jason comes home from work, right? Not to mention a sweet, well-rested baby girl sitting pretty with a bow in her hair ready to play with Daddy-o. HAH- in a dreamland. I JUST cleaned up after the vacation laundry bomb that went off downstairs, but it has yet to be all put away. I also need to change out Paisley's closet, as a lot of her things she has out grown. I need to get MY OWN closet under control, as I have had too many wardrobes in the last year (Barely pregnant summer clothes, maternity Fall/Winter clothes, maternity post-preggo clothes, still can't quiet fit in my old clothes Spring clothes, and finally, I still can't find all my summer clothes-wardrobes). And with all that to do, I still sit here and blog. Or read. ("Redeeming Love"-Francine Rivers, it's addicting) Or I run around town. Or I research and start planning Paisley's first birthday party. (Crazy, I know). Or I look at the new cute Castles and Crowns, Kelly's Kids, Baby Lulu, etc clothes for Paisley for Fall. See? "The Lazies" is a total sickness.

So basically, I start school in about 1 month. So TODAY, I am making a list of things to do before I go back to work. I do only work 4 half days, but the mornings I am off will consist of *keeping* the house under control, and not trying to get it under control, and Friday's will consist of *keeping* my sanity and spending time with friends/playgroups/just plain having fun. So I am promising, that I am putting a stop to my case of the lazies.....next week. :)

Can't leave you without a picture of Little Princess P.

Hilton Head Vacation

We had a WONDERFUL time taking Paisley on her very first vacation to the beach this year! We went to our usual, our favorite, Hilton Head Island. This year the whole Spangler Clan was able to go, and it was so nice to spend time with family. Paisley and I were able to spend some extra time at home before the trip, and a few days after too. It was great to get around to see everyone, and not be so rushed to fit everyone into 2 days when we are home for a weekend.
Paisley did really well on the trip. She had been struggling with sleep, nap time and bedtime, so I was so thankful to have extra arms to hold her while she napped during the day. Everyone so was helpful and even took her so that I could enjoy some relaxing beach time after Jason came back to Dayton. (He had to be back early to start work July 1). I was even able to shop without pushing a stroller or carrying around a way-too-heavy carrier! I didn't know what to do with myself!
We had such a great trip, and loved showing Paisley new things. We can't wait to go on many more vacations with her!
